The short version
Bulwark collects nothing. Not your browsing, not your app usage, not your name, not a device identifier. There is no account, no server, and no analytics of any kind.
How Bulwark works
Bulwark is built on Apple's Screen Time technology (the Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks). When you approve Screen Time access, iOS itself enforces the walls you choose: the adult-content filter, hard-blocked domains, app shields, time budgets, and the uninstall lock. Apple designed these frameworks so that apps like Bulwark never see your browsing history or app activity, and we don't.
What stays on your device
- Your protection settings (which walls are up, schedules, time budgets).
- Your ally's first name, exactly as entered during setup.
- A cryptographic hash of the ally code (the code itself is never stored).
All of it lives in your device's local storage and keychain. None of it is transmitted anywhere, because Bulwark has nowhere to send it.
What we never collect
- Browsing history or blocked-site attempts
- App usage data
- Location, contacts, photos, or any personal content
- Advertising identifiers or analytics events
Children
Bulwark is designed for adults setting up protection on their own device with a trusted ally. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, children included, because it collects no information at all.
Changes
If a future version of Bulwark ever changes any of this, we will update this page and the app's App Store listing before that version ships.
